Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 stick unsalted butter melted
  • 1 can 15 ounces sliced peaches in syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional but highly recommended

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk. Stir until the batter is smooth and has no lumps.
  3. Pour the melted butter into a baking dish, spreading it evenly along the bottom.
  4. Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir.
  5. Pour the canned peaches with syrup over the batter. Again, do not stir. Optionally, sprinkle the top with ground cinnamon.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
  7. Let the cobbler rest for about 10 minutes before serving to allow it to set properly.

Notes

You can substitute canned peaches with fresh or frozen peaches. If using fresh, peel and slice about 4 peaches and toss with sugar and lemon juice. If using frozen, thaw and drain them before using. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra special touch.
