Homemade Taco Seasoning

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 half teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 half teaspoon salt
  • 1 quarter teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Grab a small bowl to mix your ingredients.
  2. Add all the spices: chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Stir all ingredients together until the mixture is well blended.
  4. Optional: Taste a small pinch to check the flavor strength and adjust if needed.
  5. Store the taco seasoning in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to six months.

Notes

Use 2 to 3 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat. For vegetables or beans, start with 1 tablespoon and adjust to taste. For extra heat, add more red pepper flakes or cayenne. Substitute smoked paprika for added depth. This recipe is gluten-free if using verified pure spices.
