Ingredients

Main
  • 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts trimmed and halved
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar for drizzling after roasting

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Rinse the Brussels sprouts, trim off the rough ends, and slice them in half from top to bottom. If they are large, cut them into quarters.
  3. Place the sprouts in a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if using. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Spread the Brussels sprouts cut side down on a baking sheet. Ensure they are not crowded to prevent steaming.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, checking at the 20-minute mark. They should have golden edges and crispy outer leaves.
  6. Remove from oven and drizzle with balsamic vinegar before serving.

Notes

Customize this recipe with additions like parmesan cheese, bacon bits, honey mustard, red pepper flakes, or even maple syrup and herbs for extra flavor. Avoid overcrowding the pan for maximum crispiness.
